Lochbroom Hardware is situated on the corner of Quay Street and Shore Street, directly below The Captain’s Cabin and next to The Ullapool Bookshop, in the beautiful village of Ullapool, Ross-shire. The building itself is part of one of the oldest in Ullapool, built when Ullapool was established as a fishing village in 1788 by the British Fishery Society.
Originally built as a fishing store and salt warehouse, the Hardware store today is owned by Katrina Thomson whose family also owns the Independent Bookshop next door (The Ullapool Bookshop) and The Captain’s Cabin Gift shop and Craft Shop. The Hardware store was completely refurbished and redeveloped 12 years ago to maximise the space on this corner site, therefore providing Ullapool with a unique Hardware store / outdoor shop / electrical goods and more, for many years to come.
The shop is divided into 2 x sections, the first smaller room offers Hunters Wellington boots, Walking shoes and outdoor shoes, Gelert products, Binoculars, Watches, Walking socks, Sunglasses and also a range of hats for all weathers.
The large downstairs room offers an extensive range of Tweed jackets for reasonable prices, Fleeces, clothing, rucksacks and Anoraks, a large range of Camping equipment, Dulux paints, Electrical Goods, Household wares and essentials, Toys, Midge protection (including sprays and nets), Batteries, Fishing rods and nets, Gardening products (seeds, compost, weed killer etc) and all items required for DIY too.
